I am Professor of Philosophy Emeritus at UMass Amherst. I worked primarily in philosophy of mind and the metaphysics of mind, specializing on the problem of consciousness. My interests now center mainly on political philosophy. I have also been active in various political movements, especially the Palestine Solidarity movement, and have written specifically on that topic.
